Story

On 20 August 2015, 14 staff from Cushman & Wakefield’s Valuation & Advisory team are embarking upon an epic challenge to cycle a staggering 160 miles across two countries in less than 24 hours. The cycle is in aid of the XLP charity, part of the firm’s long supported charity Schools Around the World (SATW).

XLP creates positive futures for young people (aged 12-18) growing up on deprived inner city estates, struggling daily with issues such as family breakdown, poverty, unemployment and educational failure, and living in areas that experience high levels of anti-social behaviour, criminality and gang activity http://www.xlp.org.uk/

The charity works out of two double decker busses that go into the estates after school hours and run a series of programmes. These vary from career preparation, vocational training, cooking, arts and sports activities with a team of qualified mentors. Each bus reaches 900 young adults per year with 70% of those who complete the programme staying in full time education.

Being a huge success, XLP aim to get a third bus running. With your help, we hope to raise £15,000, if not more, to go towards the third bus. To support this outstanding challenge and worthwhile project, please make your donation. All support and proceeds will be greatly appreciated.
